Antique Hand Tools
I have an inventory of metal and wood
planes. These are items I have collected over the years
for resale. I also inventory a few saws and hand drills
and braces. These will be posted on the
web-site as they are available for sale. They vary in age
and condition but I attempt to purchase items that are
useable with no significant modification or tune-up.
English 18th or Early 19th
Century Cast Steel Infill Plane
This cast steel infill plane was in all probability produced in
England. It is complete with WP (Ward) cast steel blade hand punched
marked with the cross hammer and anvil within the logo and again
above the logo. The infill appears to be rosewood. It is marked with
the owners imprint J. GILES on both sides of the rear handle and
again on the front infill. The wedge is well worn and a very old
replacement, clearly not rosewood. The front infill may have had a
knob or raised adjustment strike point. Under magnification there are
no saw marks or chisel marks I can detect leading me to believe it is
a strike point. It is mounted cross grain and hence my assumption
that it is an original non-rosewood strike point that has been well
used. It may have been leveled long ago. The "II ARRANTED" "STEEL"
Chip Breaker appears to be original and complete with a thread steel
screw into a brass receiver that fits neatly into a hand cut beveled
circle on the top side of the chip breaker. This is a very early cast
steel plane. GOOD to GOOD + $2,195.00

SARGENT & CO NO 61 Hand
Router
The router is complete with 40 percent of the original surface. As
found. It is able to be used and the blade can be adjusted with
precision. Good $75
